new music

I made some more loop-based instrumental material and put it up on my Soundcloud account. It is highly derivative of many things I enjoy, but it was also fun to make.

Enjoy:

I’ve been on a bit on an Eno-binge recently, so I figured I’d try my hand at an ambient piece. Just a few guitar tracks and a lot of delay. Results are ok I think, but I enjoyed the process, so I’ll probably try this out some more.

prison song

Here is a song that I wrote back when Sex Piano was still alive. Though I guess it should be called “Escape Song.” It’s a good dynamic tune with a cool melody and one of my favorite solos I’ve done. I also have to give credit where it’s due – I played or programmed poor versions of the other member’s written parts, so you have a dumbed down version of a Pete English drum part, a dumbed down version of a Zac Shaw bassline, and a dumbed down version of a Zack Grunau guitar part.

Hope you enjoy, and if you like the individual parts of the song, be sure to complement the right people!

New song posted over on the Facebook page.

Lyrically, I’m not sure if I did quite what I set out to do, which was make a song about a pathetic dude at a coffeeshop who thinks he can get girls just by playing his awful songs. I think I made the pathetic dude too sympathetic, but it’s still a catchy little number I think. Enjoy.

little baby turtle

In Songs on October 25, 2010 at 5:39 pm

Got a “new” song today. Truth is, I woke up with the first few lines of this in my head one morning about 3 years ago, wrote the song, and didn’t do anything with it until recently.

Listening back, I think it’s one of my favorite of my own songs. It’s about that wonderful part of childhood when you’re too stupid to understand how turtles work, but idealistic enough to think you can fix problems about turtles that aren’t really problems.

It’s called Little Baby Turtle.

i don’t wanna hear it

A new song is up on the Facebook page. I hope you like janglin guitars and three-part harmonies, like I do.

Also, I should probably say that if you want mp3s of any of my tunes, I can hook you up.

new tune

Happy Friday y’all.

Here is a song I basically wrote and recorded the past week. It’s called “Lead Me On”. I had the melody at the end for a while and found the body to attach it to last weekend. I got to say this song is in no way autobiographical – my wife is a lovely person, not a triflin’ ho. Enjoy.

By the way, if anyone knows of a better free music uploading/streaming service than Facebook or Myspace, I hate having to link people to Facebook all the damn time.

never gonna hold your hand

“Never Gonna Hold Your Hand” is now up on my Facebook page.  It is a bit downbeat, but never fear. Beats will be up also.

Do you want some weird little comics. Do you enjoy music. Do you enjoy also just regular writing. You should come back here in a little while, when some of that stuff is up.
