hundred word wednesday – evaporation

In Hundred Word Wednesdays on April 4, 2012 at 12:32 pm

It’s been a while since a story, so here we go, fresh off the presses. A story about a moment.

He knew that there had been wind, a long gale screaming around him, slowly scouring the walls. There had been images, too – clouds racing, stars aligning, and faces hovering. He felt the sensation of a quickly spinning planet, and the chaotic meaning of its placement in space vibrated within him, and he was overwhelmed.

He saw all this in one brief second of consciousness, then slipped back under. All that remained of this experience when he came to a few hours later was the dried track of a single tear of unfathomable joy on his cheek.
