“This is old news,” he said distractedly, throwing the dossier on the fire. He was growing tired of this lousy spy ring he ran.

It was so exciting in the beginning, enlisting an elite group of agents to gather reams of information, then carefully arranging that information and selling it off to criminal outfits for vast sums of cash.

Then came the internet. The god damned internet. All information out in the open. His best spies had gone freelance; he was left with forgetful old timers and inexperienced fools.

He watched the dossier burn, then went to check his e-mail.
